Natural labor induction

I use electro-acupuncture for inducing labor.  It is quite effective and I have even had a woman’s water break on my table.  I insert needles into specific points on the lower back, hands and ankles to stimulate uterine contractions.  These points are then hooked up to an electro-acupuncture machine to stimulate them consistantly.  Most go into labor either right away or within 48hours

Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a painful condition often related to fertility issues.  I see many women who suffer frequently from pain during their cycle.  Acupuncture helps regulate the cycle, warm the uterus and relax the uterus.  There are several syndromes that may be underlying in endometriosis but all of them have some sort of blood stagnation. Acupuncture helps to correct the stagnation to increase the normal qi and blood flow throughout the uterus.  This in turn will help relieve the painful symptoms of endometriosis. Chinese herbs to move qi and blood and warm the uterus are often used in comjustion with acupuncture as well as moxibutsion.

Back pain

Back pain is probably one of the most common complaints I see.  There are many reasons why people have back pain but most people feel better with acupuncture treatments.  Acupuncture is effective for the relief of muscle spasms, inflammation and adhesions.  There are several modalities I use for this including heat therpay, tui na massage, needling as well as cupping.

Asthma

Asthma is commonly treated with acupuncture.  I have often used acupuncture to stimulate the immune system as well as cupping and supplementing with chinese herbal medicine as an effective treatment. People usually respond with less wheezing, better sleep, decreased stress as well as better control of their symptoms.

What is acupuncture???

Acupuncture is an ancient form of Chinese medicine involving the insertion of solid hair thin acupuncture needles into the skin at specific points on the body to achieve a therapeutic effect. No drug is injected. The needles alone create the beneficial effects of acupuncture. Acupuncture is used to encourage natural healing, improve mood and energy, reduce or relieve pain and improve function of affected areas of the body. It is safe and effective and is often successfully used as an alternative to medications or even surgery. Relief is often obtained with acupuncture when traditional medical therapy has failed.
